Mentoring agreement:
This is what you should take notes of
The first meeting aims to establish mutual expectations and to discuss possible ideas for mentoring content. To "officially" start the mentorship, a mentoring agreement must be confirmed by both parties.
It is useful that the mentee makes notes during the first meeting about the discussed contents and agreements and put these topics afterwards on the platform.
What should be in the agreement?
- Frequency, possible location(s) and duration of the meetings, possibly already first dates
- Planned duration of the mentorship
- Verifiable goals for the mentorship
- Contents and mutual expectations
- Agreement on the future responsibilities and communication channels, e.g.:
- Who enters the dates in the online tool and initiates the next meeting?
- Who keeps track of goal setting?
- How is the mentee's progress documented?
When the mentee has completed the agreement, she:he sends it to the mentor, who may accept the agreement or write a new content proposal and send it back to the mentee for confirmation. With confirmation of the agreement, the mentorship relationship "officially" starts. You can now see your running mentorship in the category "Mentoring" in your profile and plan and schedule all meetings together via the platform.
